Notes on the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)

Electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of with household waste. Disposal is only possible via the local collection and return points of the municipalities. This is the only way to ensure the material recycling of waste electrical equipment and to conserve resources and the environment. Improper disposal of electronic waste can have dangerous effects on the environment and human health. The required registration according to § 6 (2) ElektroG with Stiftung-EAR (Stiftung Elektronik-Altgeräte-Register) has been completed.
We draw the attention of end-users of waste electrical and electronic equipment to the fact that they are responsible for deleting personal data on the old devices to be disposed of.
According to the WEEE Directive, EU member states are obliged to collect data on waste electrical and electronic equipment and to submit it to the European Commission. Further information can be found on the BMUV website.
